Michael James Meehan

Michael James Meehan, age 65, of Plainfield, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet. Michael grew up in Bolingbrook, and graduated from Bolingbrook High School.

He was a Store Director for Jewel Osco for 35 years. Michael enjoyed cooking dinners for his family, planting trees in his yard, and needle point. His greatest joy was raising and being with his children, and now being a grandpa. Over the years, he fought heroically through a number of health challenges to return home to the family he loved.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Heidi; his children, Blair Michele Meehan (Randall Miller), Jacob Lars Meehan, and Troy Alexander (Jamie) Meehan; and his grandchildren, Soren Alexander and Seamus Lars Meehan.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Diane Schnidt.

Visitation for Michael James Meehan will be Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until services begin at 3:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd (at Essington Rd), Joliet. As it was his request, cremation rites will be accorded following services.
