Michaeleen “Mickey” Czapczyk

Michaeleen Czapczyk, age 65, of Garland, Texas, and formerly Shorewood, IL, passed from this life unexpectedly, on Thursday evening, September 28, 2023. Mickey was born on December 29, 1957, in Chicago, IL, to the late Margaret and Thomas McGlynn.

She is survived by her daughters and son, Jamie Maroncelli, Michelle (late Donnie) Scandell and Thomas Muir; dear friend and partner, Steven Keigan; grandchildren, Amanda Maroncelli (Petey Holmes), Jessica Maroncelli, Jacob Maroncelli, Brittanie (Jonathan) Miller, Anthony Hillbrant, Damien Hillbrant (Madysann), and Nicholas Hillbrant as well as several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Kathleen (Larry) Schmoock, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Czapczyk; her parents; and her sister, Patricia Scott.

Mickey loved life and everyone around her, including her dogs the late Nugget and Rocky, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. She enjoyed the simple things in life, traveling, crocheting, and being with her friends and family.

She will be remembered for always being the life of the party and for her beautiful smile.

Visitation for Mickey will be Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning, October 5, 2023, at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home, to Holy Family Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
