Obituary: Nancy M. Hebding

Besides her family, her faith was the most important thing in her life. Devout Catholic passed away at age 91.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory.

Nancy M. Hebding

Nancy M. Hebding, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the Northwest Palos Community Hospital. Nancy was born on January 27, 1932, to the late Aloysius and Teresa Feeley. On November 25, 1950, she married Thomas Hebding, and the two had celebrated over 72 years of marriage. Nancy was a graduate of St. Francis Academy, and was studying to be a nurse. After marriage, she focused on the raising of her children. Besides her family, her faith was the most important thing in her life. She was a devout Catholic, and was a member of the Marian Movement of Priests and the Universal Living Rosary Association. Nancy took numerous pilgrimages to Medjugorje.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Thomas Hebding; her children, Douglas ( Debbie) Hebding, Christine (Joe) Hatcher, John J. (Linda) Hebding and Therese (the late George) Smith; her grandchildren, Heather, Stephen, Jennifer, Brian, Rebecca, Andrew, Kristin, Caitlin, Michael, and Diana; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael T. Hebding; and brother, Raymond Feeley.

All friends and relatives are invited to celebrate Nancy’s life on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery.
