Robert E. Rokavec, Jr.

Robert E. Rokavec, Jr. (Bob), age 58, of Plainfield, IL, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in Joliet, IL. He was born September 6, 1966, in Berwyn, IL, the son of Judy and Robert E. Rokavec, Sr.

Bob was a born tinkerer. He loved to work with his hands and would go above and beyond to help family, friends, and neighbors whenever they needed. He was a skilled tradesman who was known for being determined to fix anything he came up against. Bob spent over 25 years in the HVAC field, most recently as a Journeyman for Faith Mechanical.

While Bob rarely gave himself a break, when he did, he enjoyed nothing more than spending his spare time at Woodsmoke Ranch surrounded by friends and the great outdoors. Bob will be remembered for his fierce loyalty, dedication, and generosity to those he loved and those he worked with.

He was the beloved “Kovich” of Susan Rokavec; caring Dad of Cheryl (Rob), Trina (Dragan), and Candice (Kyle); loving Boppa of Nathan, Mia, and Luka.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Rokavec, Sr.

A visitation for Robert E. Rokavec, Jr. will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Sharing of Memories, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.

In lieu of flowers memorials in his name can be made to The Will County Children’s Advocate Center, 1206 Cedarwood Drive, Crest Hill, IL 60403.
