Roger W. Underwood, age 76, passed away due to complications from an automobile accident on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Roger was born on January 28, 1948 in Greenup, KY, the son of the late Charles and Jean (nee Stephenson) Underwood.

Roger retired from Stepan Chemical after 30 years of dedicated service. He had a passion for muscle cars and loved to tinker with anything mechanical. Roger loved being in the South, and he especially loved eating at Captain Jack’s in Panama City, FL. He was always happiest spending time with his family.
Roger is survived by his loving wife Donna (nee McNamee); his children, Pam (Nick) Hendricks, Steve (Theresa) Stanick, and Roger (Kerry) Underwood; grandchildren, Desiree, Nick Jr. (Stacey), Francesca, Rob (Michelle), Nate, Amber, Deanna (Mike), Bryan, and Justin; several great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Robert, Belva, Lois, Joe, Larry, Bonnie, Connie, and Barry; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Visitation for Roger W. Underwood will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. Due to his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
