Shane was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished every opportunity to hunt and fish, teaching his sons to love and respect nature. He also found great enjoyment participating in bowling and softball leagues, which he loved sharing with his wife, Mary. Shane and Mary were high school sweethearts and best friends. They enjoyed fishing together the most. Whether on the field, on the water, or in his backyard, Shane was most at home when surrounded by the people he loved.

His optimism was a defining trait—Shane had a deep belief in the goodness of others and was always quick to offer grace and understanding. Devoted to his family, he was a constant source of support and unwavering love for his wife and sons. He poured love, time, and laughter into every moment spent with them.

Shane is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Mary DeBerry; two sons, Jakob (Josie) DeBerry and Ryan (Haley) DeBerry; grandchildren, William and Meredith DeBerry; brother, Ronald (Debra) Buerger; sister, Debra (the late Timothy) McGinnis; step-father, Richard Henning; father-in-law, Ronald Korczak; step-brothers, Earl J. (Tracy) DeBerry and Curtis (Becky) DeBerry; and in-laws, Debbie (Steve) Zelinski and Carrie (John) Cline. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of close friends mourn his loss. His loyal canine companion, Cooper, will miss his presence dearly.

He is preceded by his mother, Donna Henning; and his father, Lehman DeBerry.
