Park District Board Oct 8th Meeting Video

Levy increase passes and VP Silosky makes strong statement regarding rudeness and bullying by commissioner Steinys while in closed session

Below are links to the Plainfield Township Park District meeting of October 8th, 2014. Total run time is a bit under 45 minutes. Among the key topics and outcomes of the meeting were:

1. The 2014 tax levy was passed (will be a 6% to 8.5% increase over last year’s rate or roughly $12-$17 more for the year on a home worth roughly $250,000)
2. A presentation on choices for 2014’s employee health insurance was given and will carry over to November‘s meeting
3. In the part 3 video, the few minutes after the board reconvened in public session after closed session, commissioner and board vice-president Janet Silosky made an impassioned statement regarding conduct by “a certain person” in closed session whom she alluded was trying to prevent board members from speaking and was inappropriately bullying women during closed session. While she did NOT name Peter Steinys as the person responsible, the video makes clear that she was speaking not just about, but to, him.
