Patrick Royal Wittke (affectionately called “Chulo” by his wife, Irene), age 71.

Patrick was employed for many years and retired from the Wonder Bread/Continental Baking Company in Chicago at 5702 W. 55th Street.

Patrick Royal Wittke (affectionately called “Chulo” by his wife, Irene), age 71, a Plainfield, IL resident since 1998, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 23, 1953, in Chicago, IL.

Beloved husband of Irene Wittke (nee Garcia), whom he married on May 12, 1984, loving father of Mark Anthony (Maria) Medina of Wyandotte, MI and Michelle (Oscar) Hurtado, adored grandfather of Cristian, Yulissa (fiancé, Ben), Adalia Joli and Loren Irene; Nikolas Sebastian and Vincent Eli, devoted son of the late Carl and Mary Wittke, son-in-law of the late John Paul and Irene Garcia, dear brother of the late Keith Wittke, brother-in-law of Anna Marie (the late William Russell) Chapman and John Paul (the late Nancy) Garcia, fond uncle of Patricia Ann, (the late) Richard Ryan, (the late) Jason Christopher, Justin Paul (fiancée, Shastina) and Erica Russell, great-uncle of Alex, Angela and Justin; (the late) Kirsten, Jacob; Vivian (Jorge), Dylan, Cameron and Austin, great-great uncle of Owen.

Patrick grew up in Chicago’s West Side Lawndale neighborhood, attended Eli Whitney Elementary School and Charles A. Prosser Vocational High School (Class of 1971). He also attended Triton College, in River Grove, IL, and worked as an Ironworker, and for Xerox as a technician. Patrick was later employed for many years and retired from the Wonder Bread/Continental Baking Company in Chicago at 5702 W. 55th Street.

Patrick was a former parishioner of Saint Denis Catholic Church in Chicago and was a current parishioner of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield, IL. He enjoyed bowling and baseball (he was a talented pitcher in his youth and loved the Chicago Cubs). Patrick cherished family time and especially loved being with his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing chess and tossing a baseball around in the yard.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, 1:00-5:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd. (Corners of Rt. 59 and Rt. 30), Plainfield, IL 60544.

Services will begin Monday, October 6, 10:00 AM from the funeral home and will proceed to a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield, IL 60544.

Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
