PE Waiver, $195M Tax Levy Hearings Set For District 202
The public hearings will take place ahead of the regular school board meeting.

PLAINFIELD, IL — In addition to a public hearing on a proposed $195 million taxy levy, Plainfield school district will have a hearing on its physical education waiver with the Illinois State Board of Education ahead of its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at the District Administrative Center, 15732 Howard St.
The meeting will start with the 2017 tax levy hearing, followed by the PE waiver hearing. The board will then go into executive session. The public portion of the meeting is at 7:30 p.m.
Illinois law currently requires public schools to offer PE classes every day. But elementary schools can submit waives to the state to reduce the number to at least once per week.
