Plainfield Among Best Cities For K-12 Teachers: Study

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield ranks among the top 10 places to live in the U.S. if you're a K-12 teacher, according to a new study. The village ranked at No. 9 on GoodCall's 2017 Top 100 Best Cities For K-12 Teachers list, which ranked cities based on factors including average salary, jobs per 1,000 residents, violent crime rate, unemployment rate and percentage of residents with a high school diploma and bachelor's degree or higher.

These are the Illinois cities that made the top 10:

• Glenview #2
• Evanston #3
• Elmhurst #4
• Plainfield #9
• Crystal Lake #10

Other Illinois cities made the top 100, including Naperville, Downers Grove, Buffalo Grove, Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Orland Park, Tinley Park and Skokie.
