Plainfield Area Public Library Announces StoryWalk® Showcase Contest
The StoryWalk® Showcase Contest will run from July 1 to August 24.

The Plainfield Area Public Library is thrilled to announce the StoryWalk® Showcase Contest, running from July 1 to August 24. We invite community members to create and submit an original illustrated story to be featured at our brand-new StoryWalk® at Wheatland Park.
This contest is open to aspiring authors and artists of all ages, divided into four age groups: 3 to 5, 6 to 9, 10 to 12, and 13 to 18. One winner from each age group will be selected, and their stories will be showcased at the StoryWalk® from Saturday, September 7 through Thursday, October 31. Winners will also receive a gift card as a token of our appreciation.
Contest Guidelines
- Theme: Stories and artwork should have an animal or nature theme and be suitable for a children’s audience.
- Length: Stories must be no longer than four (4) one-sided pages.
- Size: Pages must be 18×24 inches horizontal in size. Paper for your submission can be picked up at the Library.
- Submission Deadline: All entries must be dropped off at the Plainfield Area Public Library by 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
- Required Information: Please include your name, age, and email address or phone number on the back of all story pages.
Winners will be announced on Saturday, September 31. Don’t miss the Grand Opening of the StoryWalk® at the Rescue Rally & Pet Expo on Saturday, September 7, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Wheatland Park, 23830 W 127th St., Plainfield, IL 60585.
