Plainfield Board to Consider Facade Grant; Economic Development Group Talks TIF District

The village board meets Monday,while the economic development task force is set to gather Wednesday morning.

Plainfield’s Committee of the Whole will meet Monday, Jan. 12, to discuss a possible facade grant for a downtown Plainfield building, as well as a proposed housing development.

On the agenda is a facade grant request from applicant Pat McKeown for 24103 W. Lockport St., home to Andreasen Travel & Tours.

The board is also being asked for input on a proposed single family/townhome development known as Vista Pointe South. The development is proposed for property south of Walker Road and east of Ridge Road.

The board meets at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, 24401 W. Lockport St.

On Wednesday morning, the village’s Economic Development Advisory Task Force will meet to discuss, among other matters, the proposed Route 30 TIF district.

Last month, the board approved a $78,200 contract with a Chicago-based consultant for a TIF district eligibility study for the Route 30 corridor from Renwick Road to Spangler Road.

The task force meets at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 14 at Village Hall.
