Plainfield Central Sports Hall of Famer Nate Fox Shot to Death in Bloomingdale

Funeral services scheduled for Dec. 29. Police looking for information.

A Plainfield Central High School Hall of Fame athlete who went on to play pro basketball in Europe was shot to death Monday in Bloomingdale, and police are seeking help with the case.

Nate J. Fox, 37, was shot after he returned to his Tamarack Lane home after work, according to the Bloomingdale Police Department.

“We’re not sure if this was a random act or if something led to this or if he was targeted,’’ Police Chief Frank Giammarese told the Chicago Tribune. “We’re trying to find the person or persons who did this.’’

Fox played pro basketball in Europe from 2000 to 2012.

Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, in Joliet, on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Sunday from 2:00-7:00 PM.
