Plainfield Central's Dorrestein Headed to N.Y. Jets
Offensive lineman who played college ball for University of Michigan signed pro deal Wednesday.
Perry Dorrestein, a star offensive lineman for Plainfield Central High School and the University of Michigan, signed a deal Wednesday to play for the New York Jets.
Dorrestein, 23, who graduated from Central in 2006, started 22 of 31 games for the Wolverines, including 10 in 2010, according to a U-M media release.
The 6-foot-7-inch, 321-pound tackle earned three varsity letters during his five-year tenure at Michigan.

While at Central, he was a two-year varsity starter who has 23 pancake blocks in his senior year and an estimated 50 in his four years on the team, according to a U-M player profile. He earned All-State honors from the Illinois High School Association, the Chicago Tribune and the Champaign News-Gazette.
He was also a four-year honor roll student, the profile said.
