Plainfield Dance Academy Holds Open Auditions for “Nutcracker” on September 9th and 16th

Talented, young dancers ages 6-18 are invited to strut their stuff and audition to join the cast of the holiday classic “The Nutcracker” in two open auditions held at the Plainfield Dance Academy, 13717 US Route 30, Plainfield, Illinois, on September 9th and 16th. Those selected will have the opportunity to perform with the world-famous Moscow Ballet and/or Wheatland Dance Theater in December productions. Dancers must be no more than 5’5” tall and have two years of ballet training.

“The ‘Nutcracker’ is the first exposure that most people have to dance and ballet,” said Altin Naska, owner and artistic director for Plainfield Dance Academy. “It is a magical and memorable experience to perform in what is the most widely performed ballet in the world,” he continued. Naska will head up the audition process and act as the instructor and choreographer for the performances.

Audition schedule for both days of auditions (September 9 and September 16) are as follows.

• Ages 6-8: 3 p.m.
• Ages 9-11: 4 p.m.
• Ages 12 and up: 5 p.m.
