Plainfield East Basketball Coach Named AD at Neuqua Valley

PLAINFIELD, IL -- Plainfield East High School boys basketball coach and Assistant Athletic Director Branden Adkins is leaving District 202 to become AD at Neuqua Valley High School.

Adkins, who has been with the Bengals since PEHS opened in 2008, will succeed retiring Neuqua Valley Athletic Director Barb Barrows.

"Obviously, they're big shoes to fill because of all that she's done," Adkins told the Chicago Tribune. " ... My first thing is I need to learn — and I've told the coaches this and during the interview process – I need to learn the 'Wildcat Way.'"

Adkins led Plainfield East to regional championships in 2012 and 2015 and two Southwest Prairie Conference titles, according to the Tribune.

He takes over his new role in the Indian Prairie School District 204 on July 1.
