PLAINFIELD, IL — Children can get their creative juices flowing this summer at an art camp hosted by the Plainfield East High School art department.

Registration has opened for the Summer Art Studio, happening June 22–25. Students will learn techniques in painting, drawing, clay and mixed media. They'll keep the artwork they create.

Morning sessions will run from 9-11 a.m., and afternoon sessions will take place from 1-3 p.m., with both covering the same material. Students can sign up for either session in one of three groups: ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-13.

The cost, covering supplies and a camp t-shirt, is $100. Families registering more than one student can email Emily Tonon at etonon@psd202.org to receive a $10 off coupon.

Money raised will support student scholarships, art exhibitions, PEHS National Art Honor Society scholarship projects, and supplies that enrich the art curriculum, district officials said.
