Plainfield Fest Is Returning But Once Again Without Carnival
The Midwest Bags Tournament, an ice cream run, multiple bands and various other activities are coming to downtown Plainfield.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield Fest is returning in less than two weeks. That means downtown Plainfield will be filled with live music, family-friendly activities and food trucks for three days starting July 15.
But similar to last summer, the carnival won't be happening this time around, according to the website for the Plainfield Riverfront Foundation-hosted festival.
"Due to space we are unable to host a carnival, we hope in the future to bring it back," organizers wrote.

The festival's hours vary by day, but each day after 6 p.m., the festival turns into a 21-and-over-only event. After this time, a $5 entry fee includes a wristband that is required for alcohol purchases.
The Midwest Bags Tournament is returning on the third day of the fest — July 17 — and every team is guaranteed five games, organizers said. The team that wins first will come away with a $1,000 prize, while the second- and third-place winners will receive $600 and $400. Payouts are based on 64 teams entering, organizers said.
