Plainfield Fire District Installs Flashing Lights at Fire Stations

In order to let motorists know that emergency vehicles are exiting the fire station, the Plainfield Fire Protection District has installed Solar Flashing Beacon Systems on the street right-away at each of its four fire stations, according to a release from the district.

The lights will provide motorists with advance warning that emergency vehicles are approaching which will allow additional time for them to react reducing the risk of collisions and allowing emergency vehicles to more safely exit the fire station.

More than 50 percent of the costs for this project were funded by a grant from the Illinois Public Risk Fund. For more information please contact the Plainfield Fire Protection District at 815-436-5335.
