Plainfield Fire District July 14th Video Online

Includes details on training/resource tracking software being purchased and new PFPD Annual Report to be issued shortly

Below are links to video recording of the Plainfield Fire Protection District regular monthly meeting of July 14th, 2015, totally less than an hour. Regular viewers of these videos will note that I did not post video for the June meeting. Apologies, but I had to miss that one due to another commitment.

During this meeting the board heard details on Target Solutions, a software tool the district will be purchasing for a 5-year trial. The 5-year commitment allows a discount for the service. Basically, the software will be available to use for 121 non-specific ”members” (the system license is per person or“unit”, not per specific name or individual) and by the end of the 5-year period, the annual cost per member will be no more than $87. This means something a bit under $50,000 for five years. This software is used around the country in many departments and organizations, and has a good record of value and performance. Target Solutions will allow the PFPD to track all kinds of compliance: training, vehicle maintenance, etc.

A new annual report was just completed to distribute district wide. Chief Riddle thanked various staff for their work on it and said the department was very pleased with the report, in both content and design.

The board reconvened after closed session and former Trustee Denny Bennett gave an overview on an elevator issue the department is working out, for which they agreed to hold a COW (Committee of the Whole) workshop meeting on July 28th.

The next regular meeting of the board of trustees would be on Tuesday, August 11th, 2015. Website info from PFPD found here: PFPD Meetings page.
