Plainfield Foundation for Excellence Hosts Annual Dinner, April 10

Annual fundraising dinner supports D202 students and staff.

The Plainfield School District 202 community is invited to help support District 202 schools, students and staff through the Plainfield Foundation for Excellence annual dinner and silent auction on Friday, April 10, 2015.

The dinner will also include the fifth annual Foundation Alumni Hall of Fame induction ceremony. This year’s honored inductees include four Plainfield High School (now Plainfield Central High School) graduates.

The event, which serves as the Foundation’s main fundraiser, will be held at the Bolingbrook Golf Club, 2001 Rodeo Drive, Bolingbrook. Tickets are $75 each. The social hour and silent auction will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m.

  • Promote excellence and achievement for learners
  • Encourage innovation in the teaching/learning process
  • Enhance collaboration between the Foundation and greater community

The Foundation for Excellence since 1983 has raised and contributed nearly $400,000 to support District 202 students and staff in the form of grants, scholarships and special funding.

The Foundation has also supported special programs including a District Art Gallery, the Great Read community reading program and the 1847 Schoolhouse Restoration.

“For more than three decades, the Foundation for Excellence has proudly worked to help District 202 students, staff and community to excel and grow,” said Foundation Chair Margie Bonuchi.

“We are grateful for the support that we have gotten, and continue to get each year for this important work from our neighbors, friends, business people and families,” Bonuchi said.
