Plainfield Irish Parade Returns, Seeks Princess Nominees
Mark your calendars for the 16h annual event in downtown Plainfield.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The 16th Annual Plainfield Hometown Irish Parade will descend on downtown Plainfield on Sunday, March 11. The parade will step off from Plainfield Central High School at 1 p.m.
The annual event, organized by the Village Preservation Association (VPA), also needs nominees for the 2018 Irish Parade Princess.
Community members can nominate candidates on the Plainfield Irish Parade website.

Businesses, civic organizations and non-profits can also be a part of the parade for $75 per entry. Entry forms are online and are due by March 5. Parade route information is posted to the website.
In addition to the parade, the VPA "has lined up an extensive array of activities to keep the whole family entertained" at the intersection of Lockport and DesPlaines streets. Activities include free face painting, bounce houses, vendors and more, plus food trucks and offerings from downtown restaurants. Bagpipers and Irish dance groups will also entertain guests in the family area.

The Irish parade got its start as a neighborhood event in 2002 and has grown into a popular community celebration in downtown Plainfield. This year's event is presented by James Flanagan, Attorney at Law.
