Plainfield Man Dies After Crashing Into Tree In Joliet: Report
The 55-year-old man was driving west on Caton Farm in Joliet when his car veered off the road and hit a tree, according to reports.
PLAINFIELD, IL — A 55-year-old Plainfield man was pronounced dead at a hospital after a crash in Joliet Friday evening, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.
Brian Wischnefski's final cause and manner of death are pending autopsy, police and toxicology reports, officials said.
Joliet police responded to the scene of the crash, on westbound Caton Farm Road, near Wesmere Parkway, according to a traffic alert posted at 8:45 p.m. Friday. The roadway was closed until after 1 a.m. Saturday, officers wrote in a Facebook post.

The 55-year-old man was driving west on Caton Farm when his car veered off the road and hit a tree, according to reports from WJOL. He was transported to Ascension Saint Joseph-Joliet Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to the coroner's office.
The driver may have suffered a medical event prior to the crash, WJOL reported.
