Plainfield Park Board to Vote on Tax Levy
Residents invited to meet-and-greet with new Executive Director Carlo Capalbo at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Residents are invited to show up early for Wednesday’s Plainfield Park District Board of Commissioners meeting.
The meet-and-greet is set for 5 to 5:45 p.m. at the Heritage Professional Center, 24023 W. Lockport St., prior to the meeting at 6 p.m.
The board is set to vote on the 2014 tax levy following a proposal from Finance and Human Resources Director Maureen Nugent.

According to park district documents, staff is recommending a total levy of $6,075,417.92 — more than $380,000 more than last year’s actual levy extension of $5,693,932.78.
The levy would mean an estimated tax rate of .2753, up from the current .2535.

The board is also slated to vote on a resolution to grant an easement to the Village of Plainfield for the construction and maintenance of a section of the DuPage River Trail.
