Plainfield Park District Lottery To Determine Candidate Ballot Spots

The lottery serves as a fair and impartial method of random selection for elections when two or more candidates file simultaneous petitions.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A lottery held Wednesday will determine the ballot position for Plainfield Park District commissioners in the consolidated election on April 4, 2023.

The drawing, which serves as a fair and impartial method of random selection for elections, will be held at 11 a.m. at the Plainfield Park District Recreation and Administration Center, 23729 W. Ottawa St. Candidates — who are not required to attend — their representatives and community members are invited to attend.

Nuhie Faheem, Dean Herman, Rick Todd, Debra Narducci and Tracee Steele are running for one of the three commissioner spots with 6-year terms, and Bill Thoman is running for the 2-year unexpired term of commissioner.

The lottery applies only to those running for a 6-year term. Candidates will be notified of lottery results by mail or email, officials said.

Tuesday is the final day objections to commissioners' candidacy can be filed.
