The Plainfield Park District’s Cardboard Boat Regatta sets sail on August 6 at the Ottawa Street Pool from 7 to 8p.

Park District residents are invited to build a boat out of cardboard and duct tape, then test its sea worthiness by piloting it on the waters of the Ottawa Street Pool, 23820 W. Ottawa St.

Awards categories include fastest boat, most team spirit, and best design.

Admission is free for spectators.

Cost is $10 per team.
