Plainfield Park District Celebrating Arbor Day With Tree Giveaway

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Park District will celebrate Arbor Day 2021 with a drive-through free tree giveaway on April 22.

The District has 100 Bur Oak and 100 Swamp White Oak saplings to distribute to the public from noon to 2 p at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center north parking lot, 24550 W. Renwick Rd.

The 2.5 foot – 3 foot tall saplings have been donated by Living Lands & Waters in support of their Million Trees project.

Trees will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents can receive up to two trees per car.

To maintain safety protocols and social distance, the event will be conducted as a drive through with residents selecting their trees and then loading them into their vehicles.
