Plainfield Patriotic Picnic Returns July 3
Celebrate the 4th of July a day early at Plainfield Central High School.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Join the Plainfield Park District from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 3, at Plainfield Central High School for the annual Patriotic Picnic and Fireworks! Celebrate with games, activities, fireworks, food and fun. Plainfield Central is located at 24120 Fort Beggs Drive off of Route 59.
The festivities kick off at 6 p.m. with the raising of the flag. Children will then be able to begin decorating their bikes, wagons and scooters in red, white, and blue for the bike parade at 6:30 p.m. All children are welcome to participate. A limited supply of decorations will be available.
The Plainfield Park District Dance Team will perform at 7 p.m. and the Plainfield American Legion will conduct a Retiring of the Colors at 8:30 p.m. Guests can also join the park district in writing positive greetings to deployed soldiers throughout the evening.

Children get unlimited turns on inflatables with the purchase of a $5 wristband. Face painting, Touch-a-Truc, and games will also be available along with cool treats from Kona Ice. Games and inflatables close at 8:15 p.m., so be sure to arrive early!
Fireworks will begin at dusk. Bring your coolers, chairs, blankets and picnic baskets! Concessions and Kona Ice will be available for purchase. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on school property.
