Plainfield PD To Enforce DUI, Seat Belt Use In Labor Day Campaign
Police will target distracted driving, driving under the influence and seat belt usage during the two-week-long campaign.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police will begin an enforcement campaign Aug. 18 in light of the upcoming Labor Day holiday, officials announced Monday.
During the campaign set to run through the early hours of Sept. 5, officers will target seat belt usage and driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances. Officials said they will also place extra emphasis on speeding and distracted driving, warning drivers to "be aware."
"The priority is to keep people safe, so plan ahead for a sober ride home and buckle up every time, every trip," police said in a news release.
