
The Plainfield village board on Monday night agreed to a new, four-year contract giving Plainfield police an annual 2.5 percent raise.
Under the deal with the Metropolitan Alliance of Police Plainfield Chapter 93, starting pay for a new officer will increase to $62,800 from the current $56,900, and officers with eight years of experience will get $99,800, compared with the current $90,400, according to the Herald-News.
The contract is retroactive to May 1.
