Plainfield Police Nab 6 During Drunk Driving Crackdown
77 seat belt violation citations were also given.

With police in full force over the holiday weekend, drunk drivers found it harder to get away with having a few drinks and then getting behind the wheel.
From Aug. 24 to Sept. 7, Plainfield police participated in the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over effort, which nabbed six drunk drivers, according to a release from Plainfield police. Police also issued 77 seat belt violation citations.
The high-visibility Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign aimed to increase awareness about the dangers of drunk and drugged driving through the strict, no-nonsense enforcement of drunk driving laws. Anyone caught driving drunk was arrested and law enforcement officers did not show any mercy or accept any excuses. The other, equally important part of the crackdown was TV, radio and social media. It was hard to avoid the message.
