Plainfield Rolls Out The Green for Hometown Irish Parade
Everything you need to know about the Plainfield Hometown Irish Parade this Sunday.

The 13th annual Plainfield Hometown Irish Parade will be held on Sunday, March 15. The parade steps off at 1 pm from Plainfield High School-Central Campus.
The Village Preservation Association is the founder and organizer of the Plainfield Hometown Irish Parade. Since its inception in 2001, the parade has grown into a popular community tradition.

The parade will begin at Plainfield Central High School; travel north on James Street to Lockport Street; travel east on Lockport Street to Illinois Street; travel south on Illinois Street to Commercial Street; and travel west on Commercial Street to James Street; to return back to PCHS.

The Village of Plainfield reminds residents and visitors that the parade will cause delays in and around the village and also Plainfield Central High School.
Unless participating in, or viewing the parade, motorists are encouraged to avoid the downtown area and a portion of Route 126 on Sunday afternoon between the hours of noon and 3 p.m. due to heavier than normal traffic movement and road closures.

2015 Parade Princess
Colleen McCann has been selected as Parade Princess for the 2015 Plainfield Hometown Irish Parade. Colleen is a sophomore honor student at Plainfield East High School, while remaining involved in the community and participating in several sports.

2015 Grand Marshall
Longtime Plainfield-resident Dan Cassidy has been involved in the Village Preservation Association’s Irish Parade since its inception. He works tirelessly to make sure each parade is better than the last.
VPA Family Tent
The Village Preservation Association has lined up an extensive array of activities to keep the whole family entertained following the parade. Join the VPA in the heated tent adjacent to the Andreasen/Courtyard building immediately following the parade.
The tent will feature face painting, balloon sculptures, coloring contest by age group, bag toss competition for kids, and more! In addition to the wonderful food options from our downtown restaurants, the tent will also offer options from two food trucks. And special entertainment will be provided by some of the featured bagpipe bands and Irish dance groups from the parade.
