Plainfield Residents Excited to Start Using MetroNet's Fiber Internet

"I couldn't get this service fast enough," said Plainfield resident Tina Gawron.

PLAINFIELD, IL — MetroNet is currently installing fiber Internet in Plainfield and according to some of the reactions from customers, it couldn’t come fast enough.

Plainfield resident Tina Gawron has closely followed MetroNet’s construction progress in her neighborhood. When her service was recently installed, she explained why her family chose MetroNet.

“I couldn’t get this service fast enough,” said Gawron in a MetroNet news release. She signed up with MetroNet as soon as she learned the company was coming to Plainfield.

Gawron said her family is consistently using several devices at the same time and “speed is the key.” When their previous communications service provider couldn’t accommodate her family’s needs, her son started researching options and everything he found pointed to fiber.

Plainfield resident, Bill L., also among those residents who signed up for service early, is currently waiting for MetroNet to begin service installations in his neighborhood.

“When I saw that MetroNet was coming to Plainfield, I was really excited,” he said in the news release, explaining that the pricing, and the ability to get all-fiber service, are what attracted him.

The Plainfield resident said he has been disappointed in the past with the cost of service compared to the quality he’s experienced with other service providers.

“The gap in price versus service has widened even more throughout the years,” he said. “I can’t wait to get my MetroNet services installed.”

Kevin Stelmach, MetroNet General Manager, is happy with the pace of installations in Plainfield.

“We are very pleased that local residents are getting to experience the reality of our fiber optic network in their own homes,” Stelmach said.

Plainfield is one of more than 25 MetroNet communities already enjoying the many economic and lifestyle benefits of a “Gigabit City.” MetroNet began construction of their network in April of this year and the company has been in regular contact with the town’s stakeholders throughout the process.

Plainfield residents who wish to receive MetroNet services—but haven’t signed up yet—are encouraged to call MetroNet at 779-252-1115, stop by the company’s location at 24047 West Lockport Street, Suite 109 in Plainfield, or visit metronetinc.com. Early sign-up helps ensure residents that their address will be among the first for installation when MetroNet service reaches their neighborhood.
