Plainfield’s Battle Against the Ash Borer Continues

The village will spend $60,000 to replace 250 infested trees.

The Village of Plainfield continues to fight the dreaded emerald ash borer, that insidious insect that burrows its way through trees.

Last year, the village replaced 400 insect-infested and storm-ravaged trees. As a member of the consortium, Village Administrator Brian Murphy said the village can get a lower price on trees.
