Plainfield School Board Election Results

Two incumbents, two newcomers captured spots on the board.

PLAINFIELD, IL -- Six candidates were vying for four spots on the District 202 Board of Education, and as the results were tallied Tuesday, a newcomer appeared to capture the most votes.

Robert C. Smith, retired Plainfield High School - Central Campus principal and father of five, looked poised to join the board along with fellow newcomer Michael E. Robey, superintendent of Lombard Elementary School District 44 and a former teacher, assistant principal and principal.

Keeping their seats were Rod Westfall, who has served on the board for 16 years, and David Koch, who was appointed to the board.

Incumbent William A. Slabich Jr. and Nabeeha Bakhrani, a senior at Plainfield East High School, lost their bids for a spot on the board.
