Plainfield Schools Get New Assistant Principals

Both men will begin their new positions next school year.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Eagle Pointe Elementary School and Plainfield North High School will both have new assistant principals next school year.

The District 202 Board of Education approved hiring 13-year veteran educator Darnell Weathersby as the new assistant principal at Plainfield North High School. He will replace Ross Draper, who was named the new PNHS principal earlier this spring.

Weathersby started his education career in 2003, working two years as a 7th and 8th grade algebra teacher in Chicago Public Schools.

In 2005-2006 he taught middle school math and language arts in the Peoria Public School District, then worked from 2006-2012 in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania school district as a math teacher, assistant principal and acting principal.

From 2012-2015 Weathersby was assistant principal in the Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania school district. This year he has served as the middle school coordinator for RTI/PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) for the East Aurora school district.

The Board also approved hiring current Meadow View Elementary 5th grade teacher Zack Weber as the new assistant principal at Eagle Pointe Elementary. Weber will replace Laura Weed, who was named Eagle Pointe’s new principal earlier this spring.

Weber started his education career in 2006 as a second grade teacher in District 202, teaching 2nd grade for one year at Meadow. He has been teaching 5th grade since 2007.
