Plainfield Schools Raising Money for Slain Teacher

Money raised from T-shirt, towel and necklace sales will be donated to Triplett's children.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield East and North high schools will come together during two boys’ basketball games to raise money for the children of late PNHS teacher Susan Triplett, who was killed on Oct. 20.

The high schools have been selling T-shirts, rally towels and purple beaded necklaces to raise money for Triplett’s children.

The PEHS Orange Crush and PNHS Crimson Crazies fan sections will wear the special T-shirts during the games between the two schools.

PEHS will play at PNHS at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18. Then, PNHS will play at PEHS at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2016. PEHS is at 12001 S. Naperville Road, Plainfield. PNHS is at 12005 S. 248th Street, Plainfield.

The basketball teams from each school also will wear the shirts during pre-game warmups.

“It is a way for both schools to show unity and come together for a worthwhile cause,” said Tim Torkelson, athletic director for Plainfield East High School.

Money raised from the T-shirt, towel and necklace sales will be donated to Triplett’s children after the February game.
