Plainfield Sex Offender Caught In Public Park: Sheriff

The 34-year-old was arrested Wednesday.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A Plainfield man convicted on child porn charges is now accused of being a sexual predator in a public park. Timothy A. Carpenter, 34, of the 23000 block of Anderson Street, was booked into the county jail Wednesday evening on the misdemeanor charge, according to jail records.

According to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry, Carpenter was 30 and his victim was 9 at the time of the offense. He was convicted on child porn charges in DuPage County in 2014.

Carpenter was living in the basement of a Naperville home back in 2013 when he was arrested on six counts of possession of child porn. The Naperville Police Department's High Technology Computer Crimes Unit and Investigations Division found videos and images of children under the age of 13 "engaged in sexual conduct" in his possession, police said at the time.
