Plainfield Sex Offender Faces New Child Porn Charge
He previously pleaded guilty to two separate child sex offenses.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A Plainfield man with two previous sex offense convictions has been arrested again, this time in connection with a felony child porn charge. Nicholas B. Diddens, 30, of the 20900 block of Barrington Lane, was arrested Thursday night on a charge of possession of child pornography depicting a victim under age 13.
Diddens previously pleaded guilty to two to other child sex offenses. In 2004, he pleaded to sexual exploitation of a child, according to Will County Court records. For that, he received two years' probation and was required to register as a sex offender, submit to a DNA test and disease testing, as well as complete a psychological evaluation and comply with the recommendations that came from it. Court records indicate he completed treatment in 2006 and his probation was terminated.
But a year after completing treatment, Diddens pleaded guilty to unlawful association by a child sex offender. He got 180 days in jail and another two years' probation. In addition, he was barred from having contact with minors or with Community Christian Church, according to court records. The court agreed to stay his jail sentence if Diddens enrolled in an "intensive outpatient treatment program."
