Comcast announced this year’s recipients of its annual Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program from the company’s Greater Chicago Region, which spans Illinois, Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan. Funded by the Comcast Foundation, the program provides $1,000 scholarships to the best and brightest high school seniors based on their community service, academic performance and leadership skills.

Comcast recognized the students at a special event on Monday, June 6, at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. Nearly 190 recipients received $1,000 scholarships. Three students at the event received an additional $4,000 Comcast Founders Scholarship - instituted in honor of Ralph J. Roberts, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Comcast Corporation. In total this year, Comcast awarded nearly $200,000 in scholarships to high school seniors in the region.
