Plainfield Village Hall Hours Will Change In The New Year
The hours of operation will be shifted by half an hour, officials announced.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Hours of operation at Plainfield Village Hall are shifting in the new year.
Starting Jan. 3, Village Hall, located at 24401 W. Lockport Street in downtown Plainfield, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The building has typically been open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each weekday.

Amy De Boni, the village's community relations director, said the shift in hours serves several purposes.
"The Village Hall hours were slightly adjusted because we found that people are now paying bills more online which has reduced foot traffic at the Village Hall," she told Patch. "This change also allows us to streamline staffing at Village Hall."

De Boni noted Plainfield's new hours are in line with the hours of neighboring municipalities, including Joliet and Shorewood. Government centers in Oswego and Romeoville also open at 8 a.m. but close half an hour later, at 5 p.m.
