Plainfield's Old Fire Station Sells to Station One LLC
The buyer plans to renovate the building for new uses.

The Plainfield Fire Protection District has announced the sale of former Fire Station One at 15025 S. Des Plaines Street in downtown Plainfield. The buyer, Station One LLC, plans to renovate the property for new uses, according to a news release.
The Fire District will use the proceeds from the sale of the property towards additional equipment at a recently constructed training site as well as for some building improvements, with the remaining set aside for future capital improvements.
The downtown fire station was built in 1950. An open house was held on June 11, 1950 to showcase the new fire station that included space for the volunteer firefighters to hold meetings, training classes and also housed the Fire District’s administrative offices.
