Plainfield's Street Improvement Program to Begin Aug. 17

All work is expected to be completed by Oct. 23.

Plainfield’s Street Improvement Program is set to begin the week of August 17 and will include two major resurfacing contracts, according to a release from the village.

The first contract, funded through the Illinois Motor Fuel Tax, will include 135th Street (West Norman Greenway to Rt. 30), Coil Plus Drive (south of 143rd St.), Feeney Drive and Parkview Meadows subdivision.

The second contract, Village funded, will include the following roadways: River, Michigan, Bartlett, Dillman, Center, Evans, Amboy, Hartong, Miles, Park, Lakeside Ct, and Ottawa (Rt. 59 to Miles Avenue) as well as various alleys.

The work will consist of grinding off the existing asphalt surface, patching failed areas, and paving new asphalt surface. Also included in the project will be the removal and replacement of selected areas of concrete sidewalk and curb and gutter as well as pavement striping.

All work is expected to be completed by October 23.
