Plainfield's Yard Waste Pickup Ending Soon

Village officials are reminding residents that leaves are considered yard waste and are not an exception to the final yard waste collection

PLAINFIELD, IL - If you have yard debris you want picked up, time is running out to have it hauled away.

According the to the Village of Plainfield, the last day for yard waste pickup is Monday, Nov. 25 for residents with Monday pickup.

For residents with scheduled Wednesday pickup, the last day is Nov. 27.

For residents with scheduled Thursday pickup, the last day is Nov. 29.

Yard waste collection will resume in April 2020.

Village officials are reminding residents that leaves are considered yard waste and are not an exception to the final yard waste collection date. They must be packaged in brown Kraft bags or yard waste carts. Uncontained leaves will not be collected, according to village officials.

Residents are also asked to not rake or blow leaves into the street. Village officials said that this can cause the storm grates to be covered and result in flooding.
