Recycle Dead Batteries At Plainfield Village Hall

Dropoff is Monday through Friday.

PLAINFIELD, IL -- Did you know that you can recycle batteries at Plainfield Village Hall? The following types of dry-cell batteries are accepted: Alkaline (AA, AAA, C, D, 9 volt, & lantern), carbon zinc, NiCD, NiMH, silver oxide and mercury batteries. This includes button cell batteries (hearing aids, watches, etc.) and rechargeable batteries.

Lithium, lithium ion, lead acid, wet-cell, and leaking batteries are not accepted.

Batteries can be dropped off between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Village Hall, 24401 W. Lockport St. The ends of each battery must be taped to prevent short circuits and damage to terminals.
