Red Ribbon Week at St. Mary’s 2018

Students read and signed off on a Red Ribbon Pledge.

Red Ribbon Week at St. Mary’s 2018

It was another successful Red Ribbon Week at St. Mary Immaculate School! Our Red Ribbon Committee organized a lot of different themes to help students understand the negative consequences associated with drug usage and alcohol consumption. While it’s never a pleasant topic to discuss, it's still important to acknowledge the unfortunate presence of these dangerous substances.

Students read and signed off on a Red Ribbon Pledge. It read: "I pledge to grow up safe, healthy and drug free by: understanding the dangers of drug use and abuse, respecting myself and being drug free, and spreading the word to family and friends about the importance of being healthy and drug free." These pledges were hung up around the cross in the hallway.

The week culminated with the judging of the door contest. All classrooms did amazing work and creating a door with slogans and artwork to stay drug free. The winner at each level won some extra recess time this week.

Drug and alcohol FREE is the way to BE!!
