Renee K. Viscariello (née Whalen), age 70, a resident of Plainfield, IL since 2006, formerly of Cicero and Riverside, IL, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Endeavor Health Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. She was born on August 26, 1955, in Chicago, IL.
Beloved wife of Gene Viscariello, whom she married on October 18, 1981 at St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Brookfield, IL, devoted daughter of the late William "Willie" and Frances (née Voldrich) Whalen, dear sister of William Whalen II of Darien, IL, the late Robert Whalen and the late Dawn Whalen, fond aunt of Francesca Whalen, John Whalen, Patrick Whalen and William (Beth) Whalen III, loving cousin, godmother and friend to many.
Renee grew up in Cicero and was a 1973 graduate of Morton East High School. A cosmetologist, Renee was the original owner of Salon Renee in Riverside, IL.
Renee was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in Brookfield and over the years was an avid volunteer for many area charities. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, traveling, and attending car shows with her husband, Gene, and her brother, Robert.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, 4:00-8:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield, IL.
Services will begin Wednesday, June 17, 10:00 AM from the funeral home and will proceed to a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Rt. 59, Plainfield, IL 60544.
Private Interment: Risen Lord Cemetery, Oswego, IL.
