Results Are In For Plainfield Police St. Patrick's Day Enforcement

Plainfield police issued a total of 140 citations and made three arrests.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield police issued a total of 140 tickets during their St. Patrick's Day enforcement campaign, officials said.

Police released the results from their most recent campaign, which lasted from March 10-19, Monday. The following is a breakdown of citations issued.

  • 44 speeding
  • 62 seat belt
  • two distracted driving
  • 32 other

On top of the citations, police also made two criminal arrests and one arrest for driving with a suspended license.

"We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason — to save lives," police said in a news release.

Plainfield police joined multiple state and local law enforcement agencies to enforce traffic laws in light of St. Patrick's Day. The campaign was paid for using funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
