Safe Suburbs USA PAC--Where Voters Are Always Safe from the Truth

Just another political action committee running a scam against the voters.

I’ve had enough of the campaign lies in the election for Plainfield Village Trustees. This was the last brick.

I saw a post on the Facebook page of a very twisted political action committee called Safe Suburbs USA PAC. It was calling Plainfield Village Trustee candidates Bonuchi and Wojowski “pro-police”. I challenge that statement as a lie. As a citizen, taxpayer, and voter in Plainfield for the past quarter century who’s had plenty of experience with both of those candidates I know more truth than they’ll ever tell. I tried to post a comment on their FB post that included:

Well, "Safe" Suburbs doesn't know what he/she/it is talking about because:

Bonuchi actively and sneakily fought against Plainfield putting in place a new and very qualified police chief after the previous chief retired. The citizens of the village had to wait months for a new chief to get to work because of the nonsense that she, Wojowski, Patty Kalkanis Rippy, and Cally Larson pulled to block the appointment of a police chief. Not because they thought the new chief wasn't a good cop and a great choice. They didn’t care about that at all. But because they wanted to play revenge politics with our public safety because Bonuchi was rejected by voters for the mayoral seat in Plainfield the year before. This crew pulled the same stunt the year before with filling our Village Administrator spot, risking the delivery of village services for all for weeks.

[Then there's the over $100,000 of our tax money that this group has spent on a truly stupid lawsuit that they didn't give up on when the cost outran any possible financial gain. Because it's smart to spend 100K and counting to try and get up to 45K? They keep writing checks even after a judge told them they're not entitled to the money they were trying to get!]

Wojowski's record as a cop stinks out loud. In a less than 10 year time span on the job--and not as a rookie--he was named in FOUR civil lawsuits, one for excessive force in which he threw a woman to the ground, costing the taxpayers of New Lenox over $500,000 in process and settlements. And he HATED being a cop. I used to hear him regularly respond when other officers greeted him with “Hey, how’s it going?” with a countdown of his years, months, and days to retirement. The worst was when he defended his record by saying, “You can hide under a tree for 20 years and not get sued. You can go out there and do your job and work hard, and it happens.". Let that simmer: his defense was that any officer who isn’t a thug on the job must not be doing the job. No one gets a pass from me on that. We have dozens of cops in Plainfield and thousands beyond who do the job well, fairly, and with integrity. Every day. Without ever being named in even one misconduct lawsuit.

"Pro-police" my happy hind end!

The cowards over at Safe Suburbs USA PAC deleted the comment and blocked me. These guys can’t take the heat, yet they want to run the kitchen. They want candidates that will do for them. Not for the people who live in and pay the bills in Plainfield. Because anyone who might have more spine and not do their bidding scares them even more than the racism laced horror stories they push every day.

Bonuchi and Wojowski are NOT pro-police. Their public records show they aren’t. They aren’t even pro-taxpayer!

If they're not interested in serving us and our needs, why should we vote for them? Vote for Adamson and Kiefer for Plainfield Trustees and don't fill in a third oval on the ballot. Be sure to let Bonuchi and Wojowski fight over whatever crony votes are left. We may have to take one of them, but we sure don’t need both working against Plainfield in these next few important years for our village.
