Santa In A Snow Globe: Visits Can Help Plainfield Park District

PLAINFIELD, IL — Santa Claus will be inhabiting a "magic" snow globe in Plainfield on Dec. 12, and proceeds from the event will benefit the Friends of the Plainfield Park District Foundation.

From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sunday event, children will have a chance to say hi to Santa Claus and deliver their letters before having their picture taken with him. Once the event ends, photos will be emailed to families.

Santa will be hanging out in his inflatable snow globe at Bott Community Park, located at 24550 W. Renwick Road.

If purchased online before the event, tickets cost $20. On the day of, they'll cost $30, and visitors will only be able to pay with cash or checks, made out to "Friends of the Plainfield Park District Foundation."

Registration is required per car, and visitors will interact with Santa on a first-come, first-served basis during the hour-long time slot selected.

The snow globe event isn't the only opportunity Plainfield kids will have to interact with Kris Kringle. The park district is also offering personalized video messages from Santa.

To receive one via email, families can fill out one form with information for all their children. The deadline to submit is Dec. 10, and it costs $15 per family.

Completed forms, which can be found on the park district's website, can be emailed to bartlett@plfdparks.org.
